Last evening I scrambled to finish up my work and hurried down to Tucson's
Mercado San Augustin for their Day of the Dead celebration. I was just in time to see the lovely shrine, mariachis, food and plenty of people celebrating those who have passed away. Enjoy the pictures, they may inspire you to make a shrine in your home.

The shrine-all visitors were encouraged to add a picture of their loved ones and make the celebration a community effort. |

Catrinas, mini pumpkins and skeletons all have traditional significance in the shrine display. |

Marigolds are the traditional Day of the Dead flower, used in many shrines to attract the souls of the dead |

Be sure to visit a shrine in your community, it is a wonderful experience. More Mexican inspiration tomorrow!
